The Pemberton and District Community Centre will be hosting an Unplug and Play event on Sunday, May 1 from 11:00 am – 2:00 pm as a kickoff event to Screen Free Week.
The event is geared towards creating awareness for families on the importance of balancing technology use with time with family, creative pursuits, recreation and nature. Children today are increasingly connecting to technology and disconnecting from themselves, their close relationships, and nature.
Parents are encouraged to participate in the community event and reconnect.
The event is being coordinated with the Putting Children First ECD Initiative and will include active games, music, story time hosted by the Pemberton and District Library and nature activities hosted by Stewardship Pemberton.
